Global Security Offering

Closed Caption TV (CCTV) is part of ALSTOM’s global security offering for transit authorities. The global security covers passengers, installations and operations, and provides:

• Passive and active video surveillance
• Fire and Gas detection
• Anti-intrusion and access management
• Fusion of the security system and the passenger information system at the Control Centre via a   generalized Human Machine Interface
• Routing of the security related information via other systems; SCADA for infrastructure, ATS   for trainborne information and passenger information system to inform passengers on what to do

Overview

End-to-end multi-modal integrated trainborne and station CCTV system for platforms, corridors, buses, trams and trains.

• Detects security hazards, intrusions, breaches against passengers or personnel
• Integrates seamlessly with passenger information, emergency intercom and other systems: for   example, the video surveillance system records at a higher frame rate when the emergency   intercom is activated
• Uses the existing network infrastructure, therefore reduces costs
• Enables live images transmission from vehicles to control centres, especially suitable for   driverless trains
• Stores video on-board trains and in stations, full or on alarm, on removable hard drives
• Allows remote camera control
• Handles pre-post alarms
• Supports several resolutions: FULL, CIF and QCIF
• Supports high quality video frame rate to provide facial recognition at a reasonable distance while   the persons are in movement
• Records up to 25 images per second per camera PAL (30 images per second per camera NTSC)   to catch fast movement
• Uses efficient real-time compression techniques that are time and space oriented to generate   compact streams: wavelet improves the classical compression techniques by a factor of 4 to 8
